Middle initial per 1920 census - could also be and L 1850 - Potter, Centre, Pennsylvania with both parents 1860 - Richland, Fulton, Indiana - with father, mother with another son 1870 - Richland, Fulton, Indiana - with wife, find son Elmer E, age 1. Malinda's twin sister listed as Mariah. Lives next door to his Aunt Mary Wales, a widow. Jeremiah has now switched from building wagons to working as a farmer. 1880 - per Della's 1900 census, the walters were in IL in 1871 - 1880 Mariah is found with Fred Hartwig, can not find Jeremiah and Sarah. His brother Henry was in the stateline area in 1871. Assumed to be traveling with him. per Elmer's death record, they must be living in Rock Grove, Step IL as late as 1878, probably with Jeremiah's father 1900 - Monroe, Green, WI as Father-in-law : Belive in 1880 they are with Jeremiah's father Peter in Rock Grove, Step, IL 1905 - not with Della but living in Monroe not far from Della - farm laborer 1910 - not with Della but in Monroe, now with the surmane Walters rather than Walter,on Tallman at the corner of Jefferson, runs a rooming house. Sarah is doing "odd jobs" 1920 - as "Jim I", still in Monroe on Tallman at the corner of Jefferson 1880 - FOUND - they were not indexed by ancestry.com 1880 - Rock Grove, Step, IL,p.23 Jeremiah, Sarah, Malinda, Mary (Mariah), Della - name is in reverse. entered as Walter Jeremiak - laborer, lives in the village of Rock Grove, twsp, Rock Grove, Stephenson IL === below is wrong Jeremiah === 1850 - census, Buckeye, Stephenson Cty IL 1870 - census, Buckeye, Stephenson Cty IL - but assumed J & S may have lived with them when they first came to the stateline area. =================== |
