loved to bake cookies. Moved to Juda after her husband retired. All the children in the area would come to her house for cookies. Wore her hair in a pun. Freeport Journal Standard,. Freeport IL Mrs. Otillie Coplien, Juda WI, June 2 Mrs. Otillie Coplien, 81 died Wednesday night in her home here following an illness of 3 weeks. The daughter of Fredrich and Regina Streich Matzke, Mrs Coplien was born near Juda Oct 15 1857.She lived in the vicinity her entire life. Surviving are a daughter Mrs Ella Schwerin; Brodhead, four sons Elmer and Frank S; Brodhead, Clayt; Monroe and Albert Coplien, Juda, 23 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs Libbie Moldenhauer, Juda and Mrs Ferdinand Jordan, Eligin IL. Her husband Christian Coplien, and a daughter [sic]Lotta[sic] Louise, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 Saturday afternoon in the Juda Evangelical Church. Rev. Peter Razlaff will officiate and burial will be in Mt Vernon Cemetery. |
