Mary Ellen Elizabeth Kaster, 92, of Janesville, formerly of Cuba City, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009, at Our House Memory Care, Janesville. She was born in rural Darlington on May 3, 1917, the daughter of Orrin and Mary (Schaaf) Judkins. She graduated from Darlington High School and attended UW Platteville. Elizabeth married Dr. Martin Kaster in 1938, and they lived in Cuba City. Following the death of her husband in 1985, she moved to Janesville the following year. She was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her three sons: Joseph (Patricia) of Janesville, Paul (Carol) of Friendship, and Anthony (Kay) of Highland; a daughter, Donna (Jim) Dalsing of Phoenix, AZ; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a granddaughter; and a great-great-granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at ST. MARY?S CATHOLIC CHURCH, with Rev. Stephen J. Umhoefer officiating. Burial will take place on Thursday at St. Rose Cemetery, Cuba City. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the hour of Mass at ST. MARY?S CATHOLIC CHURCH.
