Note

BIOGRAPHY: Isaac was raised in Swopes Valley, Schuylkill Co. He learned blacksmithing from Aa ron Zimmerman, who was his cousin from the Rock area of Schuylkill Co, Pa. Isaac started his profession in the Schubert area of Berks County. His first working place as at Schubert in a shop owned by Philip Troutman. Isaac was not married at the time and boarded with Francis Troutman, Philip's son. Isaac moved back to Pine Grove Twp for a period of time to work on his father's farm who was in ill health at the time. Isaac married on April 18, 1908 in Pine Grove, Sch. Co., Pa.,Amanda Elizabeth Kiene,daughter of Michael Kiene And Elmira Price. Isaac and Amanda moved back to Schubert and bought a small farm owned by Oscar Anspach and had a blacksmith shop on this farm. He spent over 30 years repairing horse shoes and wagons. He also made butcher ladels and utensils, some were stamped with his initials ‎‎(IHZ)‎‎.
