Lock Haven Normal School School Teacher A letter written from Harry to Grace; Northumberland, PA Oct 3rd 1904, Dear Wife, Received your welcome letter onlast Friday and was glad to hear that you are enjoying yourself and I hope youwill stay on as long as you want too, as we are getting along all right at home. In your postal to Rose you said you started for Indian Territory on Wednesday night. I think you should have spent a day or two more at the fair, but Isuppose you saw every thing in the time you was there as you had to look fast,must cost a bugger to stay there by the looks of the _____ list: I hope you arrived at Mary's all right, as we had no news from you since you ______. We all went out to George's today and just as we were ready to start John ____'s came and we asked them to go along as we had nothing prepared for dinner, so we all went out and spent the day. ____'s did not know that you had gone to the fair: we had a cold disagreeable day and rained a little but us had a pretty good dinner and plenty for all with George's and ____'s and ours there was 16 in all for dinner. I have been very busy as father is not able to be out yet, but he is getting better and I think he will be out next week: I finished today the last car of __ling for the _. J. W. Co. on Saturday and the whole ___ ammounted to $750 and I will Clear about $550!! on the order, so I guess I will sendforward $10 today. the children are all well and are writing to you now. I suppose when you come home I want need to talk for a while as for we'll hear a lot still. Your loving Husband H. E. Walker. The above letter is written on his business stationary; H. E. Walker dealer in Hardware, Paints, Oils,and Cements. Roofing and Building Papers, Farming Implements, Phosphates and Binder Twine. Also, Lumber, Mine Props and Mine Supplies ------------------------x------------------------- Queen Street, Northumberland, PA The evenlope is addressed; Mrs H. E. Walker Adair, Indian Territory in care of Mrs.Wm. Morgan. it has 2, 2 cent stamps, and is post marked Oct 5, 1904 _______________________________________________ I feel sure that they were married inor by the minister of St. John's Lutheran Church in Northumberland, as both sets of their parents were members of this church, and all their children were baptised there, as were many of there grandchildren.
