born on 15 May 1698 in Germany. He was baptized in Jun 1698 in Stebbach, Gemmingem, Northern Kraichgau, Germany. Sponsors were Hans Michael, son of Heironymi and Anna Margaretha, daughter of Henrich Schlieffer. He was naturalized on 19 May 1739 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., PA. He died on 4 Apr 1786 in Frederick Twp., Montgomery Co., PA. He was buried on 7 Apr 1786 in Frederick Twp., Montgomery Co., PA. He was Captain in the Revolutionary War. He served under Major Jacob Bishop and Colonel Frederick Antes in the 6th Battalion in Pennsylvania. From the book ' 'Eighteenth Century Emigrants' ' a note is found stating, 'It should be noted that the Stebbach KB was opened in 1708 and a notation indicates that the earlier baptisms, dating from 1675, were entered into this new Tauffbuch from an older book at that time.' ' -- Michael Dotterer, of Falkner Swamp, son of George Philip Dodderer, on the 24th of January, 1726, bought of Hans Neues, of the Northern Liberties, one hundred and fifty acres on the east bank of Society Run, and facing the German tract, and on the 8th of November, 1734, the proprietaries granted him, by patent, fifty acres adjoining the foregoing. His wife was Anna Maria Fisher, daughter of Jacob and Sophia Fisher, an early settler of New Goshenhoppen, in Hanover Township. Naturalized 19 May 1739. Owned land in Upper Frederick Twp, New Hanover Twp, and Heidelberg Twp. He moved to Adams Co. as a widower and lived with his son Conrad or one of his daughters. He apparently went back to Montgomery Co., to either visit or to live, and died there. * Info from Vee L. Housman |
