Leonard L. Brace, 81
ROCKFORD -- Leonard L. Brace, 81, of Rockford died at 1:24 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, in SwedishAmerican Hospital. Born June 3, 1922, in Wisconsin, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brace. Married to Evelyn Hieronimus Brace, who died Oct. 25, 1999. They formerly owned the restaurant/gas station at Illinois 72 and Illinois 51 and also the Wedding Cake Studio in Rockford. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean conflict. Survivors include daughter, Linda Brace of Chicago; brothers, Charles (Marge) Brace of Stillman Valley, Harold (Sonja) Brace of Rockford; sister, Elrene (Al) Oyen of Loves Park; sisters-in-law, Mary Brace and Berneice Brace of Rockford. Predeceased by brothers, Donald and Darrell.
Service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, in Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home, 304 N. Fifth St. The Rev. Bruce Fpadenhauer, pastor of Windsor Heights Community Church, will officiate. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials in care of the family.
