February 17, 1923 - March 15, 2008 Eva A. Hawkins, 85, of Monroe, WI, formerly of Brodhead, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe, WI, surrounded by her family. She was born on Feb. 17, 1923, in Rock County, the daughter of Albert and Harriet (Keller) Nolty. She married Harold E. Hawkins on Sept. 29, 1943, in Brodhead. He passed away on Dec. 29, 2002. Eva had lived in the Brodhead/Monroe area most of her life and had farmed with her husband near Brodhead. She also attended the Church of the Nazarene, Brodhead. Eva loved being with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra (John) Eller of Spring Green, WI, and Valerie (Ray) Harvey of Beloit, WI; five sons: Harold (Karen) Hawkins Jr. of Beloit, Curtis and Kevin (Cari Jones) Hawkins, both of Monroe, Stephen (Kristine) Hawkins of Brodhead, and Charles (Melodie) Hawkins of South Wayne, WI; two sisters, Bonnie (Chester) Lewis of Brodhead and Vivian (Wilbur) Kraus of Kalispell, MT; 21 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, Patsy Lou and Sharon Ann; a sister and a brother. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008, at the D.L. NEWCMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Pastor David Krohn officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
