BELOIT/BRODHEAD Edith Eleanor Jones, 85, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at the Monroe Clinic Hospital, Monroe, WI. She was born on Nov. 8, 1919, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Jennie V. Benjamin and Edward R. Perry. She married Vernal M. Jones on Sept. 26, 1935, in Freeport, IL. He passed away on March 3, 1982. Edith lived in Avon Township all of her married life and farmed with her husband. She also was a receptionist at Jones Automation, Beloit. She was a member of the Avon Community Church, Willing Workers, and also volunteered as a pollster for Avon Township. She loved her families, especially her grandchildren and great-grand-children, and loved crocheting and gambling. She is survived by 3 sons: Ronald (Ann) Jones of Beloit, WI, Richard (Jeanette) Jones of Brodhead, WI, and Michael (Cindi) Jones of Gratiot, WI; 3 daughters: Nancy (Ray) Rankins of Dexter, MO, Donna Brady of Arleta, CA, and Patricia (Rick Radtke) Groth of Beloit, WI; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 sons: 1 in infancy, James Scott in 1975, and Jerry in 1993; and 3 sisters: Flossie, Cecil, and Iola. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI. Burial will be in Avon Community Cemetery, Avon Township. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
