1850 - Myttann is his first wife, found in Naperville, Dupage, Illinois with in-laws. Obit incorrectly sates her last name. 1860 Thomas Brace, lives in Avon Township and near Brodhead. mother's maiden name as Hawkins. Co G 13th WI Infantry Lydia is his 3rd wife Thomas Brace was born in the state of New York on the 10th day of October 1823,and died in the city of Brodhead May 12,1911,being at the time of his death 88 years,7 months and 2 days of age. He was married to Myttann Morse[Hawkins] in 1839 and moved to the state of Illinois. In 1856 they came to Avon,Rock County,Wis. To this union were born three sons and three daughters;Calvin and Nathan Brace of Brodhead,Wis,Edwin [Edward] of Rockford Mrs. James Brace of Avon,Wis.,Mrs. Anna Shields and Mrs. Wesley (Trial) Hunt, of Brodhead.There are living thirteen grandchildren,and twenty five great-grandchildren. In 1861 he enlisted in the 13th Regiment,Wisconsin volunteers and served during the rebellion. The funeral service was held at the home of his son Nathan Sunday afternoon,conducted by Rev. J. Lloyd Smith of the Congegational Church,the singing being by a male quartette, composed of J.C. Berryman,Dr. J. Sutherland,J.R. Foster and G.E. Dixon.The interment was at Avon.Following are the pallbearers;Messrs. F. Ties,F.M. Sherman,Chas Benscoter, R. Gammon,B.L. Rolfe and Clark Wiliams. |
