The RCGS shows 2 Brancofts died in Rock county between 1845 and 1889 yet the WSHS lists none. It's possible that the DOD for Lydia is an estimate and that she died in Rock county between 1845 and 1850. It doesn't make sense that Henry would travel with no woman to tend to his children. I will check later with the RCGS for the names. Census data also indicates Wm was b. in WI which would mean Lydia died in Wisconsin. If she did die in 1843, she would not be in the Rock county records as they start in 1845. 1840 - Wethersfield, Genesee, New York, Harvey with wife and 6 daughters - this shows son Wm. was not yet born. |
