The Monroe Times DONNA JEAN MALKOW ZIMMERMAN Donna Jean Malkow Zimmerman, 70 of Janesville, met her precious Savior, Jesus on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006. She was the daughter of Deylile Malkow and Ruth Qualley Malkow and was born at Monroe, WI on Nov. 29, 1936. She had two brothers, Nelson and Glen Malkow and one sister, Darlene Gill Newcomer Meier. Donna grew up on the home farm near Monticello and graduated from Albany High School in 1955. She married Mert Zimmerman on August 27, 1955. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She attended Blackhawk Technical College, studying in the nursing field and later worked at Evansville Manor as a beautician and at Rock County Hospital on the MR unit. She loved caring for the sick and handicapped. She loved and cared much for the people that she cared for and would tell them how much Jesus loved them and her too. She proudly took care of her father the last year of his life as he suffered from Alzheimer's so he did not have to go to a nursing home. He received Jesus as his Savior during that year and she was looking forward to seeing him in Heaven. Donna loved and served the Lord since she got saved at age 36. Jesus was always an important part of her life as she formerly taught Sunday School and Summer Bible School for many years. After retiring with her husband in 1995, they spent five winters in the south. In 2000, she went to work for the Janesville School System working with handicapped children. She then managed the River Place Apartments for a year where she made many dear friends. Some of her best friends and special people in her life were Jim and Linda Matley, Marv and Donna Meister, Rob and Amy Nordeng and Mary Frisque. There were three children, Steve, Sid and Susan and four grandchildren, Chad, Jeanne and Eric Zimmerman and Alyssa Anderson. Donna was looking forward to when Jesus would gently call her home. No more pain, hurt or grief, only happiness with Jesus. She attended Summit Baptist Church. Favorite Bible verses include: Psalms 18:1-3, "I love you Lord. My struggle, the Lord is my rock, my fortress, and deliverer. My God is my rock in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the Lord, who is worthy to be praised and I am saved from my enemies." 2 Cor. 5:8, "Absent from the body, present with the Lord." It's Donna's prayer, people will give their hearts to Jesus and be saved and will see her in heaven. Per her request there will be no services and Donna will be cremated. Entombment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park Mausoleum. Any memorials may go to the missionaries of Summit Baptist Church. Assisting with arrangement is Henke-Clarson Funeral Home (608) 741-1713. When I Come Home to Heaven When I come home to Heaven How joyful it will be! For on that day at last My risen Lord I'll see. No greater happiness then To see Him face to face, To see the love in His eyes And feel His warm embrace. I've done nothing to deserve That perfect home above. It was given freely through The grace of Jesus' love. Then why should earthly cares Weigh down upon me so? They'll be a distant memory When home at last I go. --Beth Stuckwisch |
