Hermine Maria Timm was born on May 1, 1880, in Monroe, Wisconsin. In the year 1893 her parents moved to Western, Nebraska. She was confirmed the following fall in the Evangelical Lutheran church. She was married to William Brunk on December 12, 1900. She was a still and always friendly person, blessed with a sunny nature. Her's was one of those natures who selves without murmur. She was always ready to help, if her health permitted and sometimes even when it would have been better for her to desist and take care of herself. She never thought of herself. She was unselfish to a high degree. She was a true helpmate to her husband. By her self-sacrificing work she made him a happy home to which he was always glad to come home to rest after his day's work. She lived for her husband, her children and her neighbors. Mrs. Brunk died very suddenly of heart trouble on Saturday, March 11, leaving behind a husband, two childen, her father who is staying in Portland, Oregon. According to our thoughts her death was too early in life, yet God's ways are past finding out. Jesus said to his diciples at one time "What I do now ye know not, but ye shall know hereafter." God's purpose with us is for heaven. For "God is wonderful in Council Great in Wisdom." The funeral was on Tuesday afternoon and owing to the very large number of relatives and friends present, the services were in the English instead of German church and even then nearly a hundred persons did not attend for lack of room. The church will seat about 500. Rev. F. Schultz of the Methodist German church preached an eloquent sermon in German and repeated it in English. The German choir, with Mrs. T.J. Fiegenbaum at the piano furnished the music. After the impressive service internment was made in Plainview cemetry, followed by a very large number of sorrowing friends. |
