Heart trouble fatal to resident of Avon Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon in the Everson funeral home for Herbert HAWKINS, Avon twp. farmer, who died as the result of heart trouble in the Wisconsin General Hospital at Madison Sunday, August 18, Rev. J. W. Zimmerman officiated and interment was in the Avon Cemetery. The pallbearers were; Oscar GREEN, Del GREEN, Walton GREEN, Ross HEATH, Walter SMITH and Edward GILBERTSON. Mr. HAWKINS was 50 years of age. He had been ill with heart trouble for about a year and had been confined to the hospital for some time. He was born in Avon twp., Rock Co., Oct. 24, 1884, the som of Chester and Martha HARRISON HAWKINS. On August 15, 1903, Mr. HAWKINS was married at Rockford to Miss Lula ROBERTSON. They lived in the Avon commuity for many years where he was engaged in farming. Surviving are the widow; five sons, Omer, Spring Grove; Jay, Beloit; Orville, Avon; Richard and Harold, at home; two daughters, Nettie SWENSON, Spring Valley; and Ellen at home. A sister, Mrs. Eva DINSE of Pittsville, and one brother, Roy HAWKINS, Avon, also survive. A daughter Jessie is deceased. Mr. HAWKINS was active in community affairs and had just resigned as clerk of the Randall school after having served a term of three years. |
