Monroe Times Monday, April 17, 2006 Mildred E. Laube, 101, Durand, IL died at 6:40 a.m., Thursday, April 13, 2006 in Medina Manor Nursing Center. Born November 25, 1904 in Durand Township, Illinois the daughter of David and Carrie B. (Bowerman) Wallace. Married Everett E. Laube in her parents home on March 10, 1926. Mildred worked in the Durand school cafeteria from 1957-1965. She was a member of the Durand United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Anne Circle and taught Sunday School for many years. She organized and belonged to the Laona Neighbors Club and belonged to the New England Grange, Durand Women's Club and Fun Club. Mildred enjoyed crocheting, flowers, reading and Bible Study, visiting shut-ins and corresponding with many friends and relatives. She graduated from Durand High School, Class of 1922. Survivors include children, Raymond (Pauline) Laube, Durand, IL, Paul (Gladys) Laube, Monroe, WI, Marcia (Boyd) Goelitz, Esmond, IL, Judith (Frank) Johnson, Pecatonica, IL, Eugene (Betty) Laube, Rockford, IL and Bruce (Diane) Laube, Trout Creek, MT; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ione Pearl Judd; and sister-in-law, Gladys Chilton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three grandchildren and brother, Harold Wallace. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2006 in the Durand United Methodist Church, Durand, IL with Reverend David Decker, pastor of Durand United Methodist Church officiating. Burial in Durand Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the church. McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main Street, Durand, IL assisted the family. Memorials have been established to the Durand Cemetery Assoc., Durand United Methodist Church and/or Hospice Care of America, 483 N. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61107 |
