Marjorie C. Dooley, age 84, of Monroe, died on Monday, February 27, 2006 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on January 4, 1922 in Albany, the daughter of Clarence and Marie (Miller) Foss. She was a 1939 graduate of Monticello High School. Marjorie and Bernard Dooley were married in December of 1939 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. She was a clerical worker at St. Clare Hospital for many years.
She is survived by her son, Richard (Lowanna) Dooley, of Monroe; daughters, Karen Nipple of Monroe, Susan Dooley of Phoenix, Arizona; granddaughters, Shari Babler of Monroe, Bonnie Dooley of Monroe; great-granddaughters, Carrie Dooley of Monroe, Brandy Dooley of Monroe; and a sister, Gladys (Gordon) Helland of Brodhead. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Bernard in 1984; daughter-in-law, Shirley Dooley in January of 1991.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. David Busker of Monroe United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established in Marjorie's memory.
