January 13, 1927, Evansville Review, p. 1, col. 7, Evansville, Wisconsin Silver Wedding Date Observed By High Mass And Wedding Dinner Mr. and Mrs. Peter Garry celebrated their Silver Wedding anniversary this morning at the St. Paul's Catholic Church by the observance of High Mass rendered by the Revs. Dwyer, of this city, McDermott, of Racine and McGinnity of Janesville. Mr. and Mrs. Garry were attended at the altar by the same people who assisted them at their wedding, January 13, 1902, in persons of Mrs. James Stack, a sister of Mrs. Garry and P. H. Meeley, of Janesville. After the wedding service a wedding breakfast was served at the home on North Madison street to twenty-five guests, the table decorations being in red and white, each place card being held up by a red candle, making the table extremely beautiful. Out of town guests were Mrs. J. W. Griffin, of Chicago, and Mrs. James Stack, Mrs. J. W. Murphy and Mrs. Harry Townsend, and Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Meeley, of Janesville. The bride, Miss Elizabeth Dooley, of Janesville, was united in marriage to Peter Garry, of Magnolia, at St. Patrick's Church, Janesville, January 13, 1902. For ten years they made their home on a farm near Magnolia, moving to this city about fifteen years ago. Mr. Garry engaging in the contracting business, at which he has been successful. Both Mr. and Mrs. Garry have been prominent in the social circles of this city and have made scores of friends who will wish them the privilege of celebrating their Golden Wedding, twenty-five years hence. |
