George C. “Nick” Kent, age 86, of Fremont, died on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at St. Joseph Residence in New London. He was born on January 14, 1918 in the Town of Mukwa, the son of the late George and Emma (Ziebel) Kent. On September 20, 1941 George married Sarah Koplien in New London. She preceded him in death on August 7, 1990. George served his country in the US Army. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Weyauwega and enjoyed trout fishing and hunting. George is survived by a son Douglas (Special friend, Lola) Kent, Iola; four daughters: Joyce(Mike)Redemann, Weyauwega; Jeanne (Peter) Lantvit, Fremont; Joan (Barry) Paulson, Fremont; and Patty (Mike) Button, Weyauwega; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, three brothers-in-law: Eugene Koplien, Weyauwega; Earl Kent, New London; Gary Weiss, Weyauwega; five sisters-in-law, LaVerna (Atwood) Lieskau, East Troy; Delores (Verl) Becker, Manitowoc; Doris Crist, Weyauwega; Joanne Gettendorf, Weyauwega; Eunice (Dick) Billington, Weyauwega; Mayme Kent, Oshkosh; and Henrietta Kent, Weyauwega. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. George was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers, four sisters-in-law, and four brothers-in-law. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 17, 2004 at 11 AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. Rev. Dennis Lemke will officiate. Burial with military rites will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Fremont. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 9 AM until the time of service. The Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont is assisting the family with arrangements. |
