1997-03-19 Chicago Tribune (IL) MCDONALD'S EXEC RONALD MIESSLER, 64 By Kenan Heise, Tribune Staff Writer. Ronald W. Miessler, 64, vice president of communications services for McDonald's Corp., was responsible for worldwide creative services and television production as well as meetings and conventions for the corporation. A resident of Winfield, he died Sunday on a trip to Florida. "Ron Miessler, or `The Miess' as we called him, was one of the greatest champions of the McDonald's restaurant system to our thousands of employees, franchisees and suppliers around the globe," said the firm's chairman and chief executive officer, Michael R. Quinlan. A 1950 graduate of Carl Schurz High School, Mr. Miessler studied business administration at the University of Wisconsin and then served in the Army in Korea. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; a son, Robert; two daughters, Kathy Wheeland and Karen Hise; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John's Lutheran Church, 125 E. Seminary St., Wheaton |
