There is a Lewis Morgan in LA Salle, Illinois in 1840. Kendall was formed from De Kalb and La Salle several years later. His father's land grant was in 1841.

DOD 24 Apr 1900 Kendall IL -Baptist Chruch record. The index of Pavilion Cem, Kendall, Illinois shows no headstones for Lewis or his wife, only their son Eugene. He may no longer have a headstone. The records states that is where he is buried.
Update: the records of the cemetery, also state this is where he is buried along with several other children. They are not found on the headstone inscription list of rootsweb. It also states there was an obituary. I have not be able to located the obit.
