The Andrus family seems to trace back to the Andrews of Warwickshire, England merchant History of Rockford and Winnebago County, Illinois pew-holder at First Baptist church, Rockford Alzira Andrus is a member of the Methodist Chruch - relationship unknown According the the Winnebago history, Isaac built his log cabin on disputed land. When it was completed, another man was able to gain entry while Isaac was away and quickly locked him out. The story also says Isaac was able to complete the cabin in one night. Census records seem to indicate, Isaac's grandfather was Ichabod and his great grandfather Ebenezer. There is an Ebenezer Andrus in NY by 1754 however, there are many Ebenezer Andrus's. Ichabod's father may not have moved to NY. Possible clues might be found in these records; May or may not be his great grandfather.
