Leslie M. Pinnow, age 88, of Brodhead, passed away Friday, October 11, 2002, at The New Glarus Home, New Glarus, Wisconsin. He was born October 10, 1914 in Rock Grove, Illinois, the son of William and Anna Ida Martha (Roenneburg) Pinnow. He married Mary E. Green on January 14, 1939 in Spring Grove Township, Green County. She died on October 25, 1996. Leslie had farmed in Spring Grove Township and also had built homes with his brother Gene for many years. He also was a custodian at the former Green County Bank, Brodhead. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Brodhead, and on the board of directors of Southern Wisconsin Co-op. He is survived by four sons: Jerry Pinnow of Perth, Australia, Lane (LaVon) Pinnow of Cascade, Colorado, Richard (Jane) Pinnow of Racine, Wisconsin, and Mark (Karen) Pinnow, Janesville, Wisconsin; a daughter, Katherine Pinnow of Brodhead; four brothers: Earl (Bertha) Pinnow and Gene (Annie) Pinnow, both of Brodhead, Alfred Pinnow of Beloit, and Charles (Shirley) Pinnow of Orfordville; four sisters: Ruth Wendler and Ann (Howard) Wallace, both of Brodhead, Rosie Bliss of Bloomington, Illinois, and Eileen Capion of German Valley, Illinois; six grandchildren: Jonathan (Jane Max-well) Pinnow of Denver, Colorado, Sarah (John) Dayhoff, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Amy (Michael) Wilson, Raleigh, North Carolina, Christopher Pinnow of Racine, Ben Pinnow of Madison, and Brian Pinnow, Menomonie, Wisconsin; three great-grandchildren: Tyler Pinnow, Elena Maxwell Pinnow, and Madison Dayhoff. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Sara, in 1945, and a brother, Roy. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 17, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Brodhead, with Pastor Randy Krause officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Judie Erickson is the organist. Pallbearers are Russell Pinnow, Dick Pinnow, Hank Pinnow, Jamie Pinnow, Steve Wallace and Milton Wendler. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Brodhead and from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church. Memorials can be made to the Brodhead EMS. |
