John Adam Reichelderfer and family, and his son John, and family, came to Salt Creek township, Pickaway Co., OH in 1806, from Berks Co., PA. The two families moved into one cabin. His eldest daughters, Catharine and Barbara were married at this time and moved with their husbands to the same area. Catharine came with her husband, Conrad Braucher, in 1805. Barbara came with her husband, Jacob Spangler, a year or son after the rest of the family. They settled on Section 9 of Salt Creek Twp. Research Notes: The following was found on page 304 of the Official Roster of Revolutionary War Soldiers, which is in the Genealogy Department of the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus, Ohio. Rechelsdorfer, John (now Reichelsderfer), Private in Captain Ferdinand Ritter's Company, 3rd Battalion, under the command of Lieutenant Jacob Morgan Sr., Berks Co., Pennsylvania Militia, 1777 and 1778. He built a cabin and planted an orchard for each of his children, he died shortly afterwards. The value of his estate, according to the inventory recorded on Feb 16 1811, was $820.22.
