I do not believe this is the same Herman and Augusta that went to Fort Wayne Indiana. Either someone choose the wrong passenger list for that line, or got the family history incorrect. Birthdates for August match those on his headstone, the pass. list states he was moving to IL, which he did. The draft records and headstone of August Wilhelm also seem to confirm this as the 1862 family.
It is believed that there were more children. It is not known if they remained in Prussia or if they were married daughters, traveled with their husbands under their names. I think they could have done as other families did. Parents and older children come to America first, younger children stay with relatives. Once they are setteled, they send for the younger children.
