It was noted when this lady passed over that ''an era of elegance is gone'' and this was certainly true. Margaret had traveled the world 'round many times living in several countries and could converse in seven languages fluently. She played several musical instruments and was an accomplished, if not published,author and artist. She loved gardening and nurtured her plants as she had her children. She worked diligently for the improvement of education and was instrumental in the foundations that are used today in the education ofthose that are challenged. She was a respected member of her community and worked long and hardfor the various charities which she supported. A member of the ButteCounty Historical Society she donated many items of historical value to this area. She took great pride in he heritage. Attending an intimate family dinner in her home was an affair one didn't forget soon. She was a gracious hostess and accomplished chef. When she was in her 80's she took one last trip to China and there climbed the Great Wall musc to the 'horror' of her daughter who had accompanied her there.
