1870 - Exeter, Green, WI - works for Samuel Witmer - exeter per ancestry.com but the page actually reads Jefferson Twsp. Correction was submitted 11 July 2006 by Dori Coplien. Exeter also missspelled as Excter 1880 - Spring Grove, Green, WI land grant to George Bussey Document #: 920 Issue Date: December 10, 1840 1 E½NE 31/ 1-N 9-E No 4th PM - 1831 MN/WI WI GREEN NOTE Will_Deeds: Notes from Deeds, Mortages, and misc. papers - passed from Albert Oscar Coplien to Ralph Owen Coplien Per record of Bremin Ship Carl, 30 may, 1868 Conversation with Ralph O. Coplien - 4 Aug. 1993 My father (Ralph) remembers that one of his grandfathers (Christian) cousins or perhaps brothers was born on the trip to the United States. He lived s short distance from him and his father Albert always called him ' 'The man with no country' '. Perhaps Carl (assumed to be the son of Michael) is actually the son of Dorothea Sophia (Pantzke) Kopplin or a son to one of the daughters of Michael. If the latter is the case he could have the last name Kopplin or that of his father.
