FOOTVILLE— Wendel J. Curry, 75, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at his home in Footville. He was born on May 16, 1931, in the Town of Center, son of Leslie G. and Dora Bernice (Coplien) Curry. Wendel was a graduate of Janesville High School, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed for many years at General Motors, Janesville. He was a member of the Footville Church of Christ, UAW Local #95, Loyal Order of the Moose #197, and a life member of Devins-Teehan Post #237 of the American Legion, Footville, and the VFW, Janesville. He is survived by his mother, Dora of Footville; brothers, Dennis (Wanda) and Kirklan; cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father in October, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2007, at NEWCOMER-SILVERTHORN CHAPEL ON THE HILL , Hwy. 11 and South Coon Island Road, Orfordville, with David Kinnick officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Town of Center, Rock County, where military rites will be held. Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
