1870 - Elk, Jackson, Illinois 1880 - Vergennes, Jackson, IL with parents How did Margaret get from Vergennes, Illinois to Green Cty WI? I believe this is her second marriage and that she and her first husband came to the WI/IL stateline area where he died. She was 30 years old when she married Frank. Frank was a widower with a young son to care for. I think he returned to WI from Iowa to get help from his sister Mary Taylor who lived in the same township as where he married Margaret. Mary's mother-in-law if the Aunt of Franks first wife. This is also the same township where he may have met his first wife as her father and uncle Ben. Barnhouse, Aunt Rosanna (Barnhouse) Taylor were living there not long before they married. I believe he left WI with the Barnhouse family for Iowa and then he and Eliz. Sarah married. On the same day Margaret Cox married Frank Caldwell in Green Cty WI, a Dora Cox married William Barlow in Green Cty WI. In 1920 they live in Roscoe Winn. IL. Per the census, she is born in TN. Dora and Margaret do not appear to be related. |
