Grandfather of Patricia Santos From his son Ray Bernard Beck: ''As far as I can determin from a post card and from other cards I have in my posession Alma and Bernard were my Dads sister and brother. The card would be in line with the time frame as it was mailed from New London CT in 1868, this was from the postage stamp still on the card. My aunt who raised my brother and I talked about Bernard, I am fuzzy about the other names myself. My aunt was the sister of my mother, who had several sisters and brothers on the Hopkins side of the family. I think that all of the boys on my dads side served as sailors in the great white fleet. This is where most of the cards I have come from. I very well also may have photos of my grand parents and even some others. Most of the photos I have were taken in and around Sullivan County. My dad was old when he married by mother. I have often wondered also if he had married more than once but can find no record of it. As far as George I have at least one card to Alma with his name on it G.W. Hauger. Alma was living in the Bundy Hotel in New Castle Indiana at the time one of the cards was sent. This is where my grandfather as far as I can tell was a barber. I understand this hotel in its day was a premier hotel. Alma also lived in Indianapolis Indiana. My dad and Mom live in Knightstown Indiana on a farm when I was young. The property I believe was willed from my Grandfather somehow. I know the house was in the family for a long time. '' |
