From Gay Fuller : ''Firstly, I believe there were 4 brothers Hauger who went to Ind. from Pa.. The fourth was a George Hauger. He is present on many census years and in 1850 he is 62 and living in the household of Phillip Copple and wife Catherine. As I recall without looking at my file he was in the county poor asylum in 1860 census, Phillip Copple Sr. having killed himself. I have never been able to determine just who Catherine Hauger was, so the idea of her being the widowed wife of Solomon makes some sense.''
From ''Kathleen Hughes'' : ''At the time I did the original research on John Hauger
Malinda Kilso Prather, I didn't collect any additional cemetery, obituary or census info on any other Haugers. I also did not get into any land or probate records at all, but unless someone else has the documentation on these, plus cemetery, obituary, etc, this is where I am going to start after I finish with the census records and marriage indexes. I don't believe I saw that anyone mentioned a George Hauger in Washington County, Indiana, but there is certainly one there.
1820 U.S. Federal Census, Washington Co, Indiana, NA Film No. M33-14, p. 212: George Hagar; 1 male 0-10, 1 male 26-45, 1 female 26-45. 1850 U.S. Federal Census Posey Twp., Washington Co, Indiana, 5 Sep 1850, page 239 NA Film No. M432-179 Dwelling 508 Family 321 Phillip Copple 66 M Farmer 80 N.C.; Catharine Copple 56 F Pennsylvania; Rachel Copple 12 F Ind; George Hauger 62 M Penn.
From Janice Case : ''In 1840 census George Hauger's age is 40-50 and probably household female is a wife or sister Catharine age 40-50. By 1850 census George Hauger is living in Phillip Copple and Catharine Hauger Copple's house: my best guess is Catharine is George's sister.''
