Theda lived in Philadelphia, Norristown & Central PA. She was a elementary school teacher in Kansas City, KS., Berks and Cumberland Counties, PA. She also served as a remedial reading teacher and worked with children who were learning disabled. As an infant she was taken to the Presbyterian Church that her parents attended, but joined the Church of the Nazarene in 1942 when she attended Eastern Nazarene College, Wollaston Park, MA from which she graduated cum laude in 1947 with a B.S degree in Elementary Education. During her growing up years, her family were faithful members of Barachah Church on Allegheny Avenue in Philadelphia and it was here that Theda chose to be baptized by immersion. After she married, she joined whatever church her husband was serving at the time. While living at RiverWoods, she transferred her membership for the last time, to St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Lewisburg, Union Co., PA. |
