BRODHEAD— Mildred M. Malcook, 94, of Brodhead, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2006, at Mercy Hospital, Janesville. She was born on Jan. 27, 1912, in Monroe, WI, daughter of Frank and Amelia (Zuehlsdorf) Schwartz. She married Raymond Wm. Malcook on Jan. 18, 1933, in Monroe. He passed away in 1960. Mildred had lived and farmed in Spring Grove Township all of her life. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Brodhead and the Order of the Moose, Monroe. She loved dancing, bowling, and golf. She especially enjoyed family gatherings and her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Violet (Norman) Truman of Brodhead; a son, Duane (Kay) Malcook of Brodhead; 11 grandchildren, 3 stepgrandchildren, 22 great-grand-children, and 2 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Raymond Jr.; 2 grandsons, 7 brothers, and a sister. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2006, at the UNITED METHODIST CHURCH , Brodhead, with Pastor Steve Groves officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Brodhead.
