1860 - Richland, Fulton, Indiana lives next door to his uncle Peter. Assumed he inherited his fathers land and his father and uncle came to IN at the same time and purchased adjacent land. Rochester Sentinal - January 14, 1898 Michael W. WALTERS was born in Snyder county, Penn., near the city of Philadelphia, June 14, 1828, and died Jan 8, 1898, aged 69 years 6 months and 25 days. He was a member of the Zion class, uniting with the Evangelical church forty-four years ago, always taking an active part in church work, filling various offices in the church and was class leader at the time of his death. He lived a pious life, his testimony always asserting the fact that he was prepared to meet his God in peace. He leaves a wife, three sons, four daughters, two brothers and a host of friends to mourn his departure. Two sons and one daughter preceded him to the spirit world. Thus the sorrowing wife loses a faithful companion, the children a loving father, the community a good neighbor and the church a true and faithful member and worker. Funeral services were held at the Zion church at one o’clock Monday, conducted by Rev. L. NEWMAN, assisted by Rev. METZNER and Rev. SHOLTY. |
