was First Lieutenant in The Civil War Died in Shamokin, Pa at age 30 Started in the printing Business and opened a shop when the Civil War broke out in 1861. He enlisted and fought in several important battles. In the Battle of Chancellorville, he was a First Lieutinant and when the Captian was shot, he took command. After the war was over,he went back to his business as Publisher of the Shamokin Herald. Heffelfinger and Coder bought the business after Owen died at age 30.
