For several years Hulda lived alone. Early in the 1990's her daughter an d two granddaughters came to live with her. She had been a cigarette smoker for many years an d finally developed lung cancer. She elected to stay with her daugher, Margaret, in Californi a while receiving therapy. Margaret says: "Hulda saw all her California family and was just too tired to fight the battle." Hulda's father was: Peder Marenius Roll LORENTZSEN, b. 1881. Peder changed his surname to NEP SUND because he was born and raised at NEP sound in Norway. Hulda's mother was Charlotte Bern tine OLSDATTER, b 1883.
