March 11 1939, Freeport Journal Standard Monroe WI, March 11 Mrs. Viola Coplien, 53, passed away yesterday in her home following an illness of two years. Viola Elmer was born in Mt. Pleasant Township June 14 1885, the daughter of Adam and Mary Prien Elmer. Her marriage to Ben Coplien occurred Aug 18, 1904 in Mt. Pleasant township. They lived on a farm in Dutch Hollow until moving to Monroe in 1919. Survivors are two sons, Nathan and Ivan, both of Monroe; one brother, Conrad Elmer, Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Mrs. Clyde Barryman, Brodhead, and Mrs. John McDearman, Laguna Beack, Cal.;one grandson, Jerry Coplien, Monroe. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 Sunday afternoon in the Shriner-Neushwander funeral home. |
