Helen Irene Coplien

MONROE -- Helen Irene Coplien, age 91, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2003 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe.
She was born December 15, 1911, the daughter of Truman and Ethel (Root) Kittelson in Albany, WI. She attended school in Albany, and later the Green County Teachers College. On February 14, 1930 she married Nathan Coplien in Monroe, WI. For many years she taught at rural schools, before working at Montgomery Ward and then Sears until her retirement.
Helen was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church. She will be fondly remembered for her love of sewing, gardening, but most of all her family.
She is survived by her son, Jerry I. (Judy) Coplien of Monroe, WI; and one sister, Pauline (Pat) Goecks of Mesa, AZ; two grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Dr., Monroe. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. Friends and family may call from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at the funeral home.
