Mount Morris, Ill. —

Etta H. Donker, 98, of Mount Morris and a former Leaf River-area resident, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford.

She was born Feb. 2, 1912, in German Valley, a daughter of Herman and Clara ‎(Westerman)‎ Borgmann. Etta married Ben Donker on Dec. 14, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa. He died Dec. 19, 1969.

Mrs. Donker and her husband were lifelong Leaf River-area farmers.

Etta enjoyed puzzle books and playing cards, especially 42.

She is survived by two daughters, Edna ‎(Edwin)‎ Smith of Oregon and Phyllis ‎(Ron)‎ Dilbeck of Davis Junction; her brother, James Borgmann of Brodhead, Wis.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; six brothers, Garhart, Joe, John, Herman, Clarence and Elmer; two sisters, Annetta Ball and Jennie Klapp; and two great-grandsons.

The funeral for Mrs. Donker will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, 203 3rd Ave., Forreston. Burial will be at White Oak Cemetery, Forreston.
