Reference: WFT CD: 003-04775 !ref: Hartford Times 21 Mar 1967; Gen.Dict.of NE;Bishop Genealogy ref: Desc.of George Hubbard; 1000 Yrs of Hubbard History; Hist.of Ancient Wethersfield. 15 Oct 1635 about 60 men, women and little children went by land towards CT with their cows, horses and swine, and after a difficult journey, arrived safely there. The winter of 1635-36 was a bitter cold one. Snow and ice surrounded their poorly constructed habitations, and their furniture and provisions sent by ships, did not arrive, being frozen up inthe Conn. River,so that they had to subsist that winter upon acorns, malt andgrain. Wethersfield had houuse and 3 acres land was on West side of High Street, at the common; bond in Oct 1657, being then a res. of Guilford. Sold this place to son John. Apr 1638 George Hubbard, mem. of the Court from Wethersfield was fined for not being present at appointed time. 20 Nov 1639-on list of Freeplanters of Wethersfield immigrants to Milford, CT. George Hubbard-Deputy from Wethersfield to CT LEG 1638-1642. Dep.of Guilford to New Haven Leg.1655. Judge of Guilford 1665. In Guilford 1650 when made Freeman. Was in Wthersfield 1636 probably came from Watertown 1633; rem. t oMilford 1644 and recorded on map there 1646; member of the Assembly 1666-7. Rem. to Guilford 1648 |
