Edwin ' 'Ed' ' C. Witt Published Thursday, November 17, 2005 11:15:53 AM Central Time Edwin ' 'Ed' ' C. Witt, 81, of Freeport and formally of Orangeville died Tuesday, November 15 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was born November 24, 1924 in Green County, Wisconsin, the son of Clarence and Florence (Malkow) Witt. Mr. Witt married Violet Rackow on December 14, 1945 in Freeport, Illinois. He was lifelong Orangeville area farmer. Mr. Witt was a member of Orangeville United Methodist Church, served as a trustee on the Orangeville Fire Department, served as Oneco Township supervisor, was a Stephenson County Board member, served on the board of directors of the Community Bank of Orangeville, was a member of Midwest Dairymen's of Rockford and served on the Orangeville Coop Board. Surviving in addition to his wife are his son, Curtis (Vickie) Witt of Freeport; two sisters; Edith Wohlford of Freeport and Elaine (James) Thomas of Pearl City; one grandson, Monty (Angie Kings) of Freeport and one granddaughter; Stacey (Ann Macias) of Rockford; one great-grandson, Dennis Reedy and one great-granddaughter; Kendra Reedy. He was preceded in death by his brother. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10:00 A.M. in Orangeville United Methodist Church with Rev. James Ketzel, pastor, officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 4:00- 8:00 P.M. in Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, Wisconsin. Memorials have been established for The Orangeville Fire Department and The Orangeville United Methodist Church. |
