Notes
![]() Note |
May have been named for his uncle Peter Bobb. Possibly his bap. sponsor death 1880 IL Mortality Index, widow, lung desiese, Dr. David Henry Kleckner (husband of Mary Ann Zimmerman), this places them in the same area as Martin Brobst, Frankenberger's, Rocky's etc. death - IL Vital Records 12/22/1879 vol.A p.517 - since his Grandson Elmer is also in this same register, I am sure this is Peter, father of Jeremiah. We also find that his son Henry is living in Monroe, Green WI in 1870. Jeremiah is in Monroe by 1880. Children known to have come with him to the WI/IL stateline area are Jeremiah, Henry and Amelia, also brother Jonas 1830 - Center, Union PA, widowed mother living with Peter 1 son 2 daughters 1840 - Potter, Centre, Pennsylvania as Walters 1 male under 5 2 males 5 to 10 1 male 30 to 40 1 female under 5 1 female 5 to 10 1 female 10 to 15 1 female 30 to 40 3 sons, 3 daughters at home in 1840 1850 - Potter, Centre, Pennsylvania, Wagon Maker, one daugher must have died or married *1860 - Richland, Fulton, Indiana, wife not present, Eliz, Henry and Hennrietta no longer with father. Henry and Peter noted as farmers. Lives next door to brother Jonas and his sons Isaac, Elias and Henry, nephew Michael and one farm down from Michael's son Solomon. Value of Real Estate-$1200, value of personal estate $400 1870 - Richland, Fulton, Indiana - with second wife and daughter by 1st marriage, Amelia *1860 & 1870 lives next door to his nephew Michael. Assumed Michael inherited his fathers land and that Peter's and his brother's Wm and Jonas came to IN at the same time and purchased adjacent land. Per birth dates of her children, it appears that shortly after she was married, Peters sister Mary and her husband George Wales, moved to Ohio. In 1850, they moved to Fulton IN near her 3 brothers. About Centre County: It was formed on February 13, 1800, as the result of ''an act erecting parts of Mifflin, Northumberland, Lycoming and Huntingdon into a separate county'' and calling it Centre. The county, of course, was named for its geographic location, but the exact geographical center of the state is in dispute. There was a sign on Greenland's store in Aaronsburg that staked its claim, but other sites around the county do so as well. The Centre County courthouse is at Bellefonte. Potter Township, one of the original townships of Centre Co., was erected at May Sessions 1774, while the territory was in Northumberland County, and was called after Gen. James Potter, one of its earliest settlers. Potter's Old Fort is within its present limits. The turnpike from Lewistown to Bellefonte runs through it from South to North, meeting the turnpike from Lewisburg at the Old Fort Tavern. Its villages now are Centre Hill and Potters Mills, both post-offices. Grange Park, belonging to the Patrons of Husbandry, is located within its limits, adjoining Centre Hall station on the Lewisburg and Tyrone railroad. Progress Grange, No. 96, P. of H., was organized February 12, 1873. Hon. Leonard Rhone is now general manager at the park. The township has two precincts, North and South. Was Union Co, Now Snyder Co, Pennsylvania |
