per census - born prussia OBITUARY-BRUNKOW, FERDINAND F. (NO DATE)Ferdinand F. Brunkow quietly passed away at his home in Onaga, Kansas, Sunday evening. He suffered a slight stroke of paralysis about a week ago. Following this he gradually became worse and apparently had another stroke later in the week. Ferdinand Fredric Brunkow was born September 25, 1866 in Germany, and passed away, Feb. 10, 1935, aged 68 years 4 months and 15 days. When he was two years of age the family came to America, locating in this county where he has since resided. On ' 'April 10, 1881, he promised to remain faithful to the word of God and the church in the sacred rite of confirmation which kept faithfully until his end. On April 6, 1893, he was united in holy wedlock to Helena Hartwich. This union was blessed with two children, Flora and Clara. He is survived by the Following: His widow, Mrs. Helena Brunkow; two daughters, Mrs. Flora Zabel, of Westmoreland and Mrs. Clara Graff, of Onaga; 5 grandchildren; two adopted sons, John Brunkow, of Vermillion and August Brunkow of Waukegan, IL; 2 sons-in-law, Arthur Zabel and John Graf; four brothers, William of Duluth, Herman of Madison, Wisconsin, Albert of Onaga, and Frank of Duluth; 3 sisters, Mrs. Wilhelmina Kolterman and Mrs. Theresa Honig, of Onaga and Mrs. Pauline Honig, of Wheaton, besides other more distant relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Duluth, on Wednesday afternoon in charge of his pastor, O. H. Hornbostel. The mortal remains were laid to rest in St. Paul’s Cemetery near Duluth, awaiting the joyful resurrection on judgment day.
