By her obituary : Her parents were poor but staunchly religious. at an early age she was instructed in the christian faith at a little Lutheran parish school. In 1875 she and her family decided to leave their fatherland and seek a new home in America. She leaves 8 children, 55 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. 3 children died in Germany. It caused her uneasiness to think that some of her children had strayed from the fold of the Good Shepherd |
