OBITUARY-ABITZ, EMILIE AGUSTE HONIG Mrs. (30 Dec 1950)Funeral services for Mrs. Emilie Abitz, 75, of Duluth were held Saturday Dec. 30, at 1:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. J. A. E. Bauer. Interment was made in the Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial wreaths in her memory amounted to $102.50. Emilie Aguste Honig, daughter of the late Frederick and Wilhelmine Honig, was born three miles north of Onaga on Oct. 4., 1874. This average life span was signally blessed by God. She was baptized in infancy, one of the first ones in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, by the sainted Rev. H. C. Senne on Mar. 21, 1875. Records show that she renewed this covenant in her early youth by the act of confirmation and she remained faithful and loyal to her Lord during her entire life, especially in the past few weeks before her death showing her Christian patience. She was united in marriage to Herman f. Abitz on Oct. 15, 1896, who preceded her in death Dec. 10, 1937. She lived her entire lifetime in this community and for a number of years made her home in Duluth. Shortly after the holidays she was suddenly stricken with a heart ailment which resulted in her death Dec. 27, 1950. She is survived by five daughters and three sons: Mrs. Esther Bosse of Onaga; Richard of Duluth; Emil of Onaga; Mrs. Emma Brunkow of Onaga; Otto of Wheaton; Miss Ida of Duluth; Mrs. Marie Zabel of Onaga; Mrs. Lorna Taylor of Manhattan; and one sister, Mrs. Emma Sereyka of Medford, Ore.: two brothers, Wm. And Albert Honig, of Onaga; 23 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Her husband, three children and two brothers preceded her in death. She attained the age of 75 years 3 mos.
