OBITUARY- HONIG, GERTRUDE E. (1982) Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude E. Honig, 79, of Duluth, were at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Duluth, with burial in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. Honig died Sunday, November 21 after a long illness. The daughter of Robert E. and Elise Abitz Matzke, she was born January 9, 1903, on a farm northwest of Onaga and spent her life in the Duluth community. Mrs. Honig was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Duluth. She was married to Arthur Honig on March 9, 1926 at Duluth. He survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Mae Henneberg, Wheaton, and Mrs. Edra Jean Northup, Wamego; a son, Daryl W. Honig, Duluth; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret E. Kufahl, Wheaton, and Mrs. Clara Wegner, Wamego; a brothers, George Matzke, Wehaton; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. |
