OBITUARY-HONIG, ARTHUR W. (1987)
Arthur W. Honig, 84, Duluth, died Tuesday, March 10, at Golden Acres Nursing Home in Onaga. He was a retired farmer. He was born August 8, 1902, near Onaga, a son of William and Theresa Brunkow Honig. He spent his life in the Duluth community north of Onaga. Mr. Honig was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and St. Paul’s Men’s Club, both of Duluth. He was married to Gertrude Matzke, March 9, 1926, at Duluth. She died November 21, 1982. An infant son, Donald Honig, died in 1940. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Henneberg, Wheaton, and Mrs. Edra Jean Northup, Wamego, a son, Daryl Honig, Duluth; three sisters, Mrs. Elsa Falk and Mrs. Adelina Abitz, both of Wheaton, and Mrs. Gladys Jeanneret, Onaga; a brother, Harry Honig, Onaga; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Services were at 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Duluth.
