Was born on what was called the Piper farm on co hi way B betweenWalworth and Sharon WI Moved to Fontana with parents when about 6 weeks old. Worked in Civil Conservation Corps at Camp Bluemound, at age 19, entered11 October 1934. Entered Army at Ft Sheridan IL ID # 46 009 118 from 5 July 1945 to 6November 1945 from Camp. Crowder, MO as Pvt Co. A 40th BN Was avid deer hunter and tradition is - was involved in black market I remember having malts, hamburgers, fries and coffee at a little dinerin Beloit near the old Fairbanks plant. Took me dancing when I was veryyoung. Loved his coffee with cream and enough sugar to almost make the spoonstand up. |
