after her father died, she and her mother moved in with her maternal grandparents 8/7/2008 The Monroe Times June J. Mevius, age 89 of Juda, died Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Pleasant View Nursing Home where she had resided since 2004. June was born on June 12, 1919 in Brodhead, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ada (Pinnow) Mevius. She was a 1937 graduate of Juda High School. June worked at Helland's Food and Locker of Juda for many years until retiring. She was a member of Juda Zion United Methodist Church and enjoyed flowers and gardening. She is survived by three cousins, Marion Pinnow of Juda, Ronald (Matilda) Kratz of Italy, and Cheryl Learn of Stoughton. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2008, at the Juda Zion United Methodist Church with Reverend Thomas Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery in Juda. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial fund will be established in June's name. The NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, is assisting the family. |
