DEATH: Brodhead Independent Newspaper Jan. 9, 1896 pg. 4 ' 'Died at the Green Co. Insane Asylum at Monroe at 10 p.m. on Jan. 6, 1896 - Mrs. Mary Jane Kline of Spring Grove. Funeral by Rev. J. Andereck will be at Beum Chapel near Rock Grove, Ill. on Friday, Jan. 10. Friends will meet at the residence of the late Isaac Kline in Spring Grove at 10 a.m. and go to the Chapel. Will be interred in the cemetery adjoining the Chapel beside her husband.' ' Jan. 16, 1896, pg. 8 ' 'Died - Mrs. Mary Jane Kline born in Indiana twsp. Harrison Co., Ohio on March 6, 1816 and died Jan. 6, 1896. Age 79 yrs 10 mos. Maided name McKune. Married in native place at age 20 yrs. to Mr. Eli Kline. Shortly after marriage, moved to Spring Grove, Wis. Lived in Green Co. all life except 13 yrs. she lived in Rock Grove twsp. Stephenson Co., Ill. 11 children, only 4 survive - Mrs. Sarah Jane Elliot of Missouri; Mrs. Melinda Pearl and Mrs. Alice Keene, both of this city and Mrs. Henry Franklin Kline of Wabasha Co., Mich. Also 30 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Member of United Bretheren church. Successful farmers, then reverses. Children died. Husband - lingering illness and died about 13 years ago. Buried in Beum chapel cemetery in Rock Grove. Insufficient support but tried to support herself and 2 maided daughters. Trouble and cares brought on insanity. Funeral at Beum Chapel at 12 on Friday, Jan. 10 by Rev. J. Andereck. Inter beside husband, 4 of grandchildren as pall bearers.' ' |
