ORANGEVILLE -- Gene D. Pinnow, 75, Orangeville, Illinois, died Monday, April 11, 2005 at FHN Memorial Hospital. He was born December 10, 1929 in Oneco Township, the son of William and Kathrine (Kundert) Pinnow. He married Doris Kissinger on May 1, 1948 in Pontiac, Illinois.
He was a salesman for Hartman of Freeport Inc., for 42 years and prior to that he was owner of a television business in Orangeville. He was a member of the Orangeville Fire Department for more than 30 years and was currently a trustee for the Fire District. He was a member of the Orangeville Masonic Lodge. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, company and especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Orangeville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: his wife; two children, William (Linda) of Orangeville, Susan (Thomas) Bodvig of McConnell; four grandchildren, Marci Pinnow of Monroe, Brandon Pinnow of Orangeville, Joseph (Erin) Thomm of Orangeville, and Jason (Stephanie) Thomm of Orangeville; two great-grandchildren, Magnus Thomm, Joseph Thomm Jr.; three step-great-grandchildren, Ashley Biehl, Brittany Biehl, Brooke Biehl; one brother, Glenn Pinnow of Browntown, WI; one half-brother, Richard Pinnow of Burn, Tennessee; one stepsister, Joan (Bill) Schmid of Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother and a half-sister, Judy Pinnow.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2005 at the United Methodist Church, Orangeville, with Pastor James A. Ketzel officiating. Burial is in Oneco Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cramer-Leamon Funeral Home, Orangeville. A memorial was established for the Orangeville Fire Department
